Sandra has over 20 years’ experience as a strategic advisor and business consultant. Sandra Hamilton, Executive MBA – Social Enterprise Leadership
Four years ago, Sandra Hamilton was instrumental in the creation of Canada’s first Social MBA. She recently became the first Canadian to graduate with an Executive MBA in Social Enterprise Leadership.

Sandra is the former Business Manager to Vancouver 2010 Olympic CEO John Furlong. Her consulting career spans 20 years working as a strategic advisor to Olympians such as Silken Laumann; Other roles include, Director of Marketing at The Vancouver Sun;  Publisher, BC Woman Magazine and Project lead for the FEED Comox Valley initiative at North Island College.

Today, Sandra is focused on advancing Social Innovation in the public sector.She is the author and strategist behind both British Columbia’s, and Alberta’s, first Social Procurement frameworks. Sandra was instrumental in Cumberland, BC, becoming Canada’s  first Buy Social Municipality. Her work has earned support from key Mayors and politicians on Vancouver Island, who recently voted to adopt AVICC Resolution #6 - to advance Social Procurement across the AVICC region.

Driven by the desire to see more children raised in healthy communities, Sandra works with public sector organisations to strategically leverage taxpayer funded contracts to enhance social and economic outcomes. Her work is focused on providing Social Procurement education within the public sector and on inspiring social entrepreneurialism acros Canada. 


In 1989 Hamilton Emigrated to Vancouver from the UK where she held the position of Regional Sales Manager for the women’s monthly magazine division of IPC, the largest magazine publisher in Britain.
